Heberprot-P Benefits Patients in Camagüey |

Havana.- The administration of Heberprot-P, a Cuban drug to treat diabetic foot ulcers, has benefited some 200 patients in the eastern province of Camagüey.
Treatment with Heberprot-P began at the angiology service of the Manuel Ascunce Domenech University Hospital and then expanded to primary health care.
At this level, work is done to promote the service and identify cases of diabetic foot ulcers at family doctor's offices.
Diabetic foot ulcer is one of the most frequent complications of diabetes, a disease that in Camagüey has a prevalence rate of 6.8 patients per 1,000 inhabitants.
It is worth mentioning that the territory qualifies as the third in Cuba due to the prevalence of this disease, only preceded in this indicator by Havana and Matanzas.
