Havana.- Several of Cuba's best athletes gave outstanding performances at the Ibero-American Tournament held in Huelva, Spain.
Denia Caballero won the gold medal in the discus with a record of 69.20 meters, the best mark of the season in that modality.
World champion in Beijing-2015 and Olympic bronze medalist in Rio de Janeiro-2016, she exceeded the 68.46 meters achieved in mid-May.
Meanwhile, Roxana Gomez won the 400-meter race with 52.37 seconds, while Zurian Hechavarria won the 400-meter hurdles after clocking 55.40 seconds.
Maikel Masso dominated the long jump with 7.83 meters, and Liadagmis Povea finished second in the triple jump event with 14.45 meters, only surpassed by the Venezuelan athlete Yulimar Rojas.
