Tourism Gains Ground in Vietnam |

Hanoi. – Vietnam's tourist destinations received some 8.5 million visitors in the first semester of 2019.
According to official sources, that number represents an increase of 7.5 percent compared to the same period in 2018, when the country was visited by 15.6 million foreign vacationers.
During the said period, Asia consolidated itself as the country's major tourist-sending market, with growth of nearly 10 percent and 75 percent of the total number of holidaymakers.
The main tourist-sending markets in the region (South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand and Singapore) kept an increasing trend.
Vietnam has 500,000 rooms distributed into 116 five-star hotels, 259 four-star establishments and 488 three-star facilities.
