Cuban Water Polo to Compete in World Championship
Monday, July 15, 2019

Havana.- The Cuban women's water polo team will take part in the World Championships in the city of Gwangju (South Korea).

After eight years of absence, Cuba will return to an event of that high level.

Included in Group C, the Cuban team will play against Kazakhstan, Greece and Spain, to conclude the qualifying phase in a 16-team tournament.

The Cubans participated for the last time in a World Championship in Shanghai in 2011, when they tied a game and lost three, finishing in the 11th place among 16 participants.

It is worth mentioning that Croatia was the absolute champion in that sport in both the men's and women's categories, in the event held in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, in 2017.
