Cuba-Canada Film Screened in Movie Theaters
Monday, August 12, 2019

Havana.- The film A Translator, a coproduction between Cuba and Canada, is being screened in Cuban movie theaters as part of summer options.

Directed by the Rodrigo and Sebastian Barriuso brothers, the film was released in Cuba during the 40th International Festival of New Latin American Cinema.

According to experts, among participants in the film are Brazilian actor Rodrigo Santoro, and Cuban actors Eslinda Nuñez, Jorge Molina and Osvaldo Doimeadios.

The plot takes place in the late 1980s, when Cuba received hundreds of children from the then Soviet Union to be treated for radiation exposure resulting from the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident.

The motion picture, produced in 2018, has been screened at important events, where it has been recognized with the award to the Best Director at the Shanghai International Festival.
