Cuba Excels in Modern Pentathlon World Event

Havana.- The Cuban duo of Leydi Laura Moya and Lester Ders was the most prominent from the American continent in the mixed relay of the 58th Modern Pentathlon World Championships, held in Hungary.

The Cuban team finished in the thirteenth position, with 1,389 points, ahead of Mexico (1,386), Argentina (1,359), Canada (149) and the United States (1,044).

The Cubans were eleven in fencing, fourth in swimming, second in riding and seventeenth in the combined shooting and running tests.

In the mixed relay, each competitor meets all the requirements and distances of the individual, the points and times are divided between the two for the final result.

It is worth mentioning that Moya and Ders qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics with the results achieved at the Pan-American Games in Lima 2019.
