Space for Choirs in Eastern Cuba
Monday, November 11, 2019

Havana.- The eastern province of Santiago de Cuba hosted the 33rd International Choir Festival, with the presence of groups from the Caribbean island and foreigners.

The event brought together groups from Mexico, the United States, the Dominican Republic, France and South Africa, as well as from Havana and other Cuban cities.

Choirs came to the Dolores Concert Hall, several churches and the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Bacardi Museum, schools, hospitals, parks and squares.

In addition, the Peace Train show at the Heredia Theater brought together children and adults from Cuba, South Africa, Mexico and the United States, under the guidance of South African Master Sharon Katz.

In that context, the six decades of the National Choir of Cuba, directed by Digna Guerra, and the Orfeon Santiago were remembered under the direction of Daria Abreu.
