Description
On the corner of Obispo and Mercaderes streets in Old Havana stands the Ambos Mundos Hotel, a building of eclectic architecture finished in 1923. It was reformed and enlarged in 1924 and 1930. In the early 1930's, the U.S. writer Ernest Hemmingway stayed at the hotel, where he wrote "Fishing Chronicles" and "For Whom the Bell Tolls". About the hotel he said: "...it was a good place to write..." The room where Hemingway always stayed was turned into a small museum on the writer's life. Nowadays it is also "a good place" to enjoy a stay that will allow you to admire the the old part of the city. Havana's "José Martí" International Airport is 12.4 miles away.
