Historical site founded in 1828. Because of its development in the sugar cane industry and activities on port, it was one of the main urban sites of Cuba in the 19th century. Today it is known as Plaza de Colon, and previously by the name of Plaza de Armas. In its surroundings, valuable buildings such as the Parish Plaza, the old Spanish Casino and the hotels Europa and Dominica, are still preserved. |
