In this house, located in Lawton neighborhood, Camilo Cienfuegos Gorriaran was born. He had a humble family, and since he was very young he not only joined the revolutionary movement, but also was a Granma expeditionary, a rebel in La Sierra Maestra Mountains, and became one of the most beloved commanders of the rebel by our people. On October 28, 1959, he physically disappeared in the sea. From that date on, the house was turned into the Memorial Museum Camilo Cienfuegos, where objects and documents related to his childhood, youth, and revolutionary background of the beloved commander, are displayed. |
