Cuba: An Ideal Scenario for Tourism

Cuba, the largest Antillean island, is strategically located in the Caribbean and stands as an ideal place for the dynamic development of tourism space with unique conditions where nature, culture and history are combined.

With more robust offerings in programs related to the sun and beaches, the Caribbean island adds to its large portfolio of initiatives programs that constitute true adventures for those who bet on Cuba.

For leisure, highlights an extensive infrastructure with real colossal hotels and facilities where turned into petit giants of the activity.

Scattered everywhere in the national territory, these establishments are a key element in dealing with the thousands of tourists who travel the destinations in the island every year.

Diving and snorkeling are available to more than 70,000 kilometers of insular platform and some 5,000 km of coastline, bathed in turn by the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea.

In addition, in Matanzas it is the Marine Park Cayo Piedras del Norte, while in the southern part of the territory is also located Biosphere Reserve Ciénaga de Zapata, stronghold of nature tourism and ideal for cave diving.

Also, there is the weight of the culture, because mergers of races and customs for centuries developed into a unique fusion of African, aboriginal, Chinese, French and Spanish roots.

Among the most followed events, due to their scope and importance, is the International Book Fair of Havana, with a scenario that is traditional in the historic Military Park Morro-Cabaña.

Undoubtedly, tourism is gaining ground on the island, supported by a strategy that includes fiscal incentives, political, social and legal stability, among other positive factors.

In addition, a portfolio of investment opportunities with more than 120 projects, including 25 for the construction of establishments and 97 in the form of hotel management.

As an example, business options for the management and marketing of 96 accommodation facilities, coupled with marinas service management in Trinidad, Sancti Spiritus, Ciego de Avila, Santiago de Cuba, Holguin and Isla de la Juventud arise.

Already in the first quarter of 2016, 27 joint ventures were established, 13 of which have already implemented investments, while 5,906 rooms were booked in 15 hotels.

Added to this, 17 foreign executives manage 39,422 rooms on 76 hotel management contracts and marketing, which represent 60.5 percent of the country´s total capacity.
