Good Performance by Cuban Volleyball Teams in 2005 |

Havana.- Volleyball was among the best collective sports in Cuba in 2005, when the men's and women's teams obtained very good results.
Analysts noted the bronze medal won by the men's team at the World League, in addition to the title they won at the North, Central American and Caribbean (NORCECA) Tournament in Havana.
The men's team also won a third place at the Americas Cup, while Raidel Poey was the highest scorer at the World League with 262 points.
The women's team finished fourth at the Grand Prix, second in a tournament held in China, and first at the Pan-American Cup and the NORCECA Tournament. The latter was a qualifier for the world championship in 2006.
The women's and men's beach volleyball teams finished fourth and fifth, respectively, at the World Championship in Germany.
Cuban volleyball is paving the way to return to the world elite before the Olympic Games in Beijing, China, in 2008.
