Cuba to Host Handball Pan-Am Championship |

Havana.- Cuba will host the first division's Pan-American Handball Championship for men from November 5-10.
Cuban sports officials pointed out that the tournament would grant three places for the next level in the continent. They added that another three places would be granted next year for the world championship in 2009.
Cuba will try to move up in that sport at the Pan-American Championship, which will also be attended by Canada, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Venezuela.
The Cuban team will be made up of both experienced players and rookies.
Cuba won a bronze medal at the handball tournament of the Pan-American Games in Rio de Janeiro, and was preceded by Brazil and Argentina, which are among the best in the region, along with Uruguay, Chile and the United States.
