Cuban Judokas to Train in Ecuador

Havana.- The Cuban judo teams (men and women) will train in Ecuador, as part of their preparation for the Olympic Games in Beijing in August.

The men's team is made up of Yasmani Piker (60 kg), Yordanis Arencibia (66), Ronald Girones (73), Oscar Cárdenas y Asley González (81), Jorge Benavides (90), Oreidis Despaigne (100), and Oscar Braison and Arlenis Morales (+100).

Arencibia and Despaigne qualified for the Olympic Games in a world tournament held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 2007.

The women's team is made up of Yanet Bermoy, Yalegnis Mestre (52), Yurisleidis Lupetey (57), Driulis González (63), Anaisis Hernández (63), Yalennis Castillo (70), Yurisel Laborde (78) Idalis Ortiz and Geidy Abreu (+78).

More Cuban judokas are expected to qualify for the Beijing Olympics at international competitions for the American continent.
