Efficiency at Cuban Health Center
Monday, June 29, 2009

Havana.- The Ophthalmologic Center in Jagüey Grande, in the western Cuban province of Matanzas, has reported high efficiency and excellent results.

Experts noted the good results in the recovery of patients who have undergone surgery to correct refractive problems (myopia and hypermetropia).

More than 100,000 patients from Cuba and other Latin American countries have received treatment at the center since its inauguration in late 2006.

More than 14,000 patients, including 10,000 Cubans, have improved their sight after undergoing surgery at the center, which is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including excímer laser apparatuses that are used in surgeries against cataracts, glaucoma and refractive problems.
