Prominent Cuban Intellectuals Acknowledged |

Havana.- The medal on the Foundation of the National Library of Cuba, granted to those who have made great contributions to that institution, was granted to intellectuals Cintio Vitier y Fina García Marruz recently.
The two scholars have worked at the library for several decades to research on José Martí's life and work.
The tribute consisted of exhibition on their literary work, interviews and journalistic articles from the library's collection, including an issue of the first edition of Vitier's book "Lo Cubano en la Poesía", dedicated to Juan Pérez de la Riva, and a letter to author José Lezama Lima, suggesting him the publication of one of his poems in the magazine "Orígenes".
Institutions such as the Center for Studies on Martí joined the tribute to the two intellectuals, who have carried out in-depth research works on Cuban Apostle José Martí.
