Cuba and China to Set Up Electronic Joint Venture |

Havana.- Cuba's electronic sector will benefit from the setting up of a joint venture between Cuban companies and the Chinese corporation Haier in 2010.
Cuba will be represented by Grupo de la Electrónica (GE), which is attached to the Ministry of Informatics and Communications.
The project will contribute to reducing imports and will foster the Cuban industry's capacity and quality in technology and production.
The new joint venture will produce desktop and laptop computers, and electrical appliances, including washing machines and air conditioners.
Haier, one of China's major companies, is providing Cuba with access to state-of-the-art technology.
