Description |
The museum is specialized in postal history and philately. There are exhibitions in its halls of old means of writing and valuable documents of post offices in Cuba. One of them has a unique importance, “the Accounting Book”, which belonged to the first Cuban post office manager in 1765. Another example of great interest is the first stamp in the world: “the Black Penny”, that circulated in England for the first time on May 6, 1840. One of the most outstanding displays of this museum is the postal rockets, which lead to issue stamps for postage. The museum has a full collection of universal philately and a specialized room for Cuban stamps (Stamp collections from all countries of the world, Cuban stamps, Postal history). |
