Description |
Dedicated to King Fernando VII who ruled Spain between 1814 and 1833. It was promoted by Claudio Martinez de Pinillos, Count of Villanueva, and erected in me middle of the plaza de Armas (Arms Square) in 1834. It is the work of Spanish sculptor Antonio Solá. In 1955 it was removed from its original place to make way for the statue of Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, me Founding Father. |
