Ignacio Agramonte y Loynaz, Major General of the Liberation Army, was born in this place on December 23, 1841. He was involved in more than 50 combats in which he had overwhelming victories over the Spanish forces that were always greater in number and weapons. His greatest deed was the historical rescue of the Brigadier General Julio Sanguily. The museum shows many episodes of the life of the Major General, Ignacio Agramonte y Loynaz. According to the oldest documents still preserved, Agramonte’s family already lived in the house before 1828. Documents, testimonies, and personal belongings of the hero from Camaguey.
