Located at the Cathedral Square. It is one of the greatest exponents of residential architecture in Cuba because of its elegant and monumental construction that represents the main features of the 18th century Cuban houses of rich families. Treasurer Diego Peñalver y Angulo built his residence here in 1741, adding porches and enlarging it later on in order to install the Treasury. In the l9th century it was a Post Office. It later belonged to the Havana Lyceum. |
