Description |
Also called Noble Havana, this fountain was done by Italian sculptor Giuseppe Gaggini and donated to the city by the Count of Villanueva. In 1837 it was placed at the end of the Alameda de Extramuros, the promenade outside the city wall, today Paseo del Prado. It is an allegory to the city, with classical influence and creole elements, made in white marble from Carrara. In 1928 it was placed on its current site. |
