| In 1836 this beautiful Lions Fountain was placed in the Plaza de San Francisco. It was donated to the city by Claudio Martínez de Pinillos, Count of Villanueva and sub treasurer of the government. It was done by Italian artist Giuseppe Gaggini. After having been located in several places, it was restored to its original place by the National Monument Commission in 1963. |
