		| San Ambrosio College was based in this building from 1689 till 1774, when it was transferred. Today, it is a specialized museum that promotes Arabian-Muslim culture. In its rooms, where decorated marquetry with inlaid with mother-of-pearl and precious wood are found, there is a wonder of nature: Desert Rose, strange calcareous formation similar to a flower that is produced on sandy soil when humidity evaporates and contains high contents of salt. There are also Islamic weapons from the 18th-19th centuries. They are plated with gold and silver, carefully decorated, and form one of the most complete collections in the country. It is the only place where there is a room for Muslim prayers, and it is open to national and foreign believers, with a collection of the Koran and other cult objects. |
