| The building is the greatest representative of the Cuban architecture of the18th century and one of the best examples of all times. Its construction started in 1776, although in 1772 the City Council had made the decision to build it and use it as the headquarters of Capitular Houses, jails, and residence of the Generals of the Army of the Island. Currently it is used as the Head Office of the Museum of the City. |
